Palmarosa essential oil is distilled from Cymbopogon Martini. This is a great oil to calm a sense of urgency-emotionally or physically. The main growing areas in India are said to be the wetlands in the provinces of India. It is a slow growing grass which flowers over a three month periods and only the flowers can be harvested.
Palmarosa essential oil is rich with geraniol which is not only use for its rose-like smell but for a number of medicinal and household uses. It is effective in antifungal and mosquito repellent.
It has many chemical constituents but the main chemical contents are geraniol (70-80%), geranyl acetate (2-10%)
Method of Extraction :
It is distilled by steam distillation method of the grass.
