Jatamasi Oil

Jatamasi essential oil is derived from the roots of a plant native to Himalayan mountains which is also known as nardostachys Jatamansi (Spikenard). Spikenard essential oil has been prized for its healing properties since ancient times .This oil is highly valued for its calming and grounding properties and has been used for centuries in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicines.

Spikenard essential oil has a warm, earthy, woody and sweet note. Spikenard essential oil has a greenish color. It is a critically endangered species in Nepal and now a days  it has been cultivated in India and Nepal border at a very large scale. It is highly useful in skincare products  as it has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can be used to uplift the mood and promote relaxation when diffused and applied topically as well as it is used as a perfume during the day to calm the senses.

Spikenard oil is used in a herbal medicine to treat insomnia, stress, digestive problem, weak immune system. In Ayurvedic medicine, it is used to treat sleeping troubled, depression, stress. anxiety chronic fatigue syndrome and nervous problems.

It has many chemical constituents but the main chemical contents are valeranone, Spirojatamol seychellene etc. 

Method of Extraction :

It is distilled by steam distillation method of the roots/rhyzomes.
